Card Text Back: Native Cutthroat Trout - New Mexico State Fish - The Cutthroat Trout is a native to the high, cold mountain streams and lakes of Northern New Mexico. It is relatively small in size - from 6 to 8 inches in length - it offers fishermen a pleasurable fight. The fish is dark olive with sparsely scattered black spots and gets its name from red streaks under the throat.
