Card Text Back: Buffalo Hunt - For the high plains Indian, the buffalo was a source for many needed items, fresh meat in hunting periods and jerky for lean times. Their hides made rugs, moccasins and so forth. The buffalo was not an easy animal for the Indian to hunt. Against the strong tough beast, spears and arrows were not too effective. One of the favorite hunting methods, as depicted here, was to stampede the animals over small cliffs. Thus injured, they were easily dispatched by the hunters.
