Card Text Back: Coyote - Coyotes are found in a variety of habitats throughout Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and the National Elk Refuge. They resemble medium-sized dogs and weigh 20-50 pounds. The coyotes' diet consists mainly of small rodents, rabbits, and carrion, supplemented with berries, grasses and insects. As they do not hibernate, their winter survival is dependent on finding food. They are often observed on the elk refuge feeding on carrion or hunting for tiny rodents that scurry beneath the snow.
